This course is offered to build capacity of small locally driven multidisciplinary health research teams developing research projects to improve health outcomes that inform policy and decision making. The course fosters a culture of inquiry and imparts skills that improve the quality of research by the existing researchers. The goal is sustainable, culturally appropriate community solutions that address local problems and lead to improved local health outcomes. MNCHI believes that all disciplines have a role to play in promoting health thus the need to improve the research skills using multidisciplinary teams. The pillars in this course are: Training, Mentoring and Funding for Community Health Research. This starts with the MicroResearch (MR) workshop for two weeks, then proposal preparation, implementation and knowledge translation. Coaching done by research experts is given throughout the whole course.
