Facilitation Skills for Community Development

Participants learning how a neonatalie is usedImproving maternal and child health requires sensitisation of different health programmes and interventions. These are hardly effective if the different leaders are unable to educate their people effectively. This course conducted for two weeks therefore offers participants the opportunity to; Develop the confidence needed for community facilitation, Produce interactive learning tools suitable for rural communities, Promote participatory approaches to community development, Learn how to motivate yourself and others.

MicroResearch

This course is offered to build capacity of small locally driven multidisciplinary health research teams developing research projects to improve health outcomes that inform policy and decision making. The course fosters a culture of inquiry and imparts skills that improve the quality of research by the existing researchers. The goal is sustainable, culturally appropriate community solutions that address local problems and lead to improved local health outcomes. MNCHI believes that all disciplines have a role to play in promoting health thus the need to improve the research skills using multidisciplinary teams. The pillars in this course are: Training, Mentoring and Funding for Community Health Research. This starts with the MicroResearch (MR) workshop for two weeks, then proposal preparation, implementation and knowledge translation. Coaching done by research experts is given throughout the whole course.
